The mission of the Menomonie Jr Mustangs Softball Program is to mold our teams into not only great athletes, but also great youth women.  Our travel program is geared for those players who wish to regularly compete at a higher level of competition.   It is also our goal to help create memories that will last these young women throughout their life.

Dear Menomonie Jr Mustangs Travel Team Parents and Players,

It is with great disappointment and sadness that the MJM Board of Directors recently announced the cancellation of all our spring/summer 2020 softball season.

The decision comes only after careful consideration, lengthy discussions, many zoom calls advice from the Dunn County Health Department and the trend of similar local, state, and national events already being cancelled for summer.

With the proposed rules that include strict regulations for in game, practice and facility sanitation as well as adhering to social distancing recommendations and the number of parents that could attend the game would be not only be difficult to manage but much different than the normal game, we all love. Additionally, many of our tournaments have already past and/or been cancelled and outside of Fisher Field we will not likely have access to any public fields until after July 1st.  Not to mention no sport is worth putting anyone’s child, family, or community more at risk.

Your full fee will be reimbursed. This process could take up to three weeks. We ask for your patience in advance.

The MJM Board will be reconvening in mid-June to discuss potential and optional camps/clinics, open softball nights and instruction in the later months of what this summer/fall.  There are no guarantees, but we can hold on to hope that we can bring some of these ideas to fruition.

In the meantime, there are many things you can do as parents to keep your children active, and to keep them building their skills. There is a plethora of online tools, drills, videos and programs, many that are free, that provide solo instruction as well as ways you as a parent can assist. 

Just like you, we had lots of excitement and hopes for many of the new softball opportunities for our children this summer. The good news is, we will be ready to roll next spring better than ever before!
